HortiMundi: Garden World

Updated: Dec 17, 2023

Who are we?

Hello gardeners! My name is Rylie and I am a student at the University of Denver. I am a Colorado native, having grown up near Denver with my three siblings, parents, and a couple of dogs. Growing up, my family always enjoyed my dad's beautiful vegetable garden and my mom's incredible cooking.

Gardening has been central to my life, and I wanted to find ways to share the joy of homegrown vegetables with others in the community. For the past several years, my family has grown all of our plants from seed in our home, and we often share our extra plants with neighbors and family. This year, we are excited to be able to provide plants for gardeners beyond our neighborhood through HortiMundi.

Check out our vegetable garden!

Behind the Name

The name HortiMundi roughly translates to mean garden world in Latin. We like to think of our garden as an escape from the rest of the world and we hope you feel the same!

Our Plants

Each of our plants is grown from seed throughout the winter, and we try to provide as much variety as possible. Our plants range from one of many types of tomatoes to roots, leafy greens peppers, and more. Depending on your gardening needs, you can also order plants in two different sizes. All of our plants are organic, so you can trust that the food you grow is of the highest quality. If you have any questions about our process or would like to request a certain type of plant, reach out at hortimundi.plants@gmail.com.

Ordering Plants

Our plants will be sold in two phases. Beginning in January, we will offer the option to pre-order plants. Pre-ordering your plants will ensure the availability of the variety you hope to grow, so we recommend you take advantage of this opportunity if you know what you want to purchase!

After the pre-ordering window has closed, we will offer a normal ordering process for seedlings come planting season.

All plants can be ordered for delivery within a certain area code or can be picked up at a local community garden on designated planting days.
