Basic Information -
Jalapeño peppers are green peppers ranging from 2,500-8,000 on the Scoville Heat Unit scale. This makes them a pretty spicy pepper. They grow to be 2-4 inches long. Our favorite way to use this pepper is in salsas, on sandwhiches, and in fajitas.
Growing Conditions -
“This pepper” thrive under the following growing conditions:
- Temperature Range: 70-90 °F
- Light: at least 6 hours of direct sunlight (more heat and sunlight tends to make for spicier peppers)
- Soil: dense, soggy, well-drained soil
- Water: 1-2 inches per week, or once or twice per week
